I've read through a number of turtle boards and haven't seen the answer to my question (or even the question) posted anywhere so I'm hoping this is just normal and I'm being a worrywart.
While watching him swim in the tank last night I noticed that his neck seems to be shedding from about the base of the head down the back of his neck (when it's extended). Do turtles shed or is he developing some sort of skin condition I should worry about.
I don't have a vet within 2 hours that knows anything about reptiles or turtles so if someone has an idea I'd appreciate it.
Thanks in advance for your help!

You have nothing to worry about. It is totally normal for turts to shed their skin, if this is happening for prolonged times though I think it could be dangerous. But for now you have nothing to worry about.

Agree with Jen, its totally normal for turtles to shed their skin. Frequent shedding isn't good, but for now, don't worry about it. Every turtle sheds every now and then, and its a sign of growth. ;D
