Hey guys! I've been busy with my new GameCube and hadn't posted about my turtles [which i got for Xmas last year]. I've got them out of their old 55 gallon setup and moved them into their new permanent 120 gallon tank and they are doing fine! For those who don't know me, my name is Jason. I live in Dallas, Tx. I have 2 aquatic turtles, one RES and one Fl Cooter. My RES is about 6 inches long and my cooter is about 8 inches long [shell length]. They've been put into their new 120 gallon tank with two binded cork barks for basking areas. Appropriate lighting structures have been placed [such as full spectrum light [the real bulbs] and heating lamp]. Lets see, a proquatics 300 watt heater, with water temp at a consant 78*F. For filters I have a Fluval 404 canister filter and two internal duetto dj150's. I'll post pics later if y'all want them. Sorry for the long post...peace out

Sounds like you are doing great! I wish that I had the money to buy a Fluval 404. I'd love to see pictures of your set up, especially your basking spot.

I will post my pica as soon as I figure out how. *Johari* If you want to post some pics you first need a website set one up at geocities or that. Then get the address of the site along with the pic name eg.http://www.geocities.com/johariturtles/myturtlepics.jpeg Hope that helps if not send me the pics and I will up load them to my website and then you'll be able to post them.

I have a website and an online photo album. I'll see if a pic works. that is a pic of my turtles. Mischeif is the boy. Hera is the girl. I don't know if you tell in the picture though. it's not a very good picture. it was taken when I only had one Rio 600 filter in my 135 gallon tank. And it was taken before my turtles ate their fish. *Johari*

If you click on the button that has a frame around it with the picture inside it. Then a code will appear will appear then type/copy the address to were the URL is. The photo will then appear like this. Sorry for not showing you how to do this in the last post.

Cool Topic. With all these tips in mind, I hope to see a bunch of pictures of turtle tank setups from everybody. Wish I could include one of my turts and their home. Hopefully I will be soon. Posting pics is pretty easy, especially since you don't need to know much of HTML codes in order to post one (like most other forums). To make it simple, here are just the few steps you need to take in order to get a picture from your computer online and on the web to post up here. ;D (but all of you have already mentioned what you need to do, hehe). Lets start from scratch. Of course, upload your picture according to what you have onto your computer (digital cam, scanner, etc..). Save it onto a Folder in your hardrive (my documents, computer, etc.). I recommend saving the picture format in GIF or JPG/JPEG, as these are the most common formats that most website places allow the pictures to be. Then, find a web/picture hosting place such as webshots, photopoint, photo album, or even a website hosting place. I don't recommend signing up with geocities, yahoo, or tripod because they don't allow their pictures to be linked or used outside of their website (these places suck because of that). Once signed up with one of those, upload your pics. If uploaded correctly, go view your photo and you should now see a URL on it. Copy that URL. Come here and go to the icon above that shows a picture and says "Insert Image". Click on that. You should now see a little code thingy (lol, excuse my explanations). Where it says URL, just replace that with the URL of your image. And thats it, your done. It sounds like lots of steps, but remember, its because I started from scratch. Since most of you already got your pics up online, all you need to do is fine the URL of your image and link it up using the above code. It should work. OR, feel free to send me your image, and I will post it up on the Photo Gallery as well as give you a free webspace for your images. The URL for images uploaded to GTT is: gordasturtletank.homestead.com/files/NAMEOFIMAGE.jpg I save all images on GTT (almost all), by JPG format to keep original colors, etc.. but I wouldn't mind getting GIF images if you rather choose that. Where you see Name Of Image, that is going to be replace with the name of YOUR image. Hope this helped and again, I hope to see a LOT of pics posted up soon. ;D
