I`m reposting this thread hoping that I`ll hear from more people this time: I`m basically looking to hear from Snakeneck owners. There`s so little info out there so I was hoping I would get some from owners.

Thanks for the info Capt. I might actually be getting one like that myself pretty soon. Only as a foster to start with, but if things go as I think they will, I`ll keep it.

what kind of turtles are snake necks? I think ive heard people call soft shell turtles snake necks but im not sure- -Stephen

Wow I really like that turt in the first pic. Good personalities? I know Softshells have good personalities as they are everywhere, in every lake and pond here in my area and I have a batch of eggs of softies to hatch soon. Chez those New Guinea turts yours? Very nice looking as is that softy! -Stephen

the new guinea snakeneck are good lookin arent they? no they arent my turts, i got the pics from google. im plannin on gettin a couple later this year tho.

They look like they got a huge smile on their faces! Jeez Id like to own one... gotta get a bigger tank before i get any more turtles though.

I think Ausinsturtlepage recommends a 180 gallon tank for one New Guinea Snakeneck. There is one type that is smaller called Australian Snakeneck (Chelodina Longicollis) but they are very hard to find. Even they require a 120 galloon or so.

TEXTTEXThi,im from australia and i own a eastern snackneck turtle in a four foot tank,its got algae growing on its shell,is this normal and can i add a algeaside to the tank safely ;D
