A turtle breeder recently told me that commercial feeder goldfish are fed a fungus med. at the farm that will build up in a turtle's system and eventually kill them. Anyone know if this is true?

I have read many things that say that feeder fish tend to carry disease/parasites that can infect your turtle. From what I've read, feeder fish are to provide calcium, but I've also read you can provide calcium with cuttlebone (like for birds, but you break into little pieces). I've never given my turtles fish because I'm afraid they'll get something and they seem very healthy otherwise.

there are certain fish that u should stay clear of but there are many feeder fish that u can give ur turtle. but u should always purchase them from a pet store and not one of those stands that sells "live fish" in little circle jars
