im sure they can. but its not nutritional at all, for humans or turtles, so whats the point?

djambic...I agree that they would probably eat bread, but from everything I've read it has no nutritional value for them. Stick to the widely recommended foods for best results. If you are looking for a tasty treat, give them occasional Reptomin baby shrimp. My two painted turtles absolutely love it!!!

i held pizza in front of my YBS and he took a bite.. i wouldnt do it again tho...
you can also give ReptoTreat, which is basically krill, they love it.

No, bread is not a food that could be considered on a turtle's diet. Instead try feeding insects as treats. You can feed crickets, mealworms, waxworms, earthworms, moths etc... They love snails and slugs. Sea foods are also a welcome treat. My guys get sardines occasionally, rinsed of course, and other sea treats.
Turtles also like a variety of different things like carrots, apples, bananas, strawberries, grapes, melon, lettuce (romaine), meats (cooked); chicken, beef (ground), turkey etc...
Basically anything that is not the commercial pellet can be called a treat.
