you probably should use silicone instead of glue.

use carpenter clear glue. its a waterproof sealant and it works good.

It would probably be best to use silicone, get it from your pet store. It needs to be fish safe.
Let me know if the repti carpet works. I have been working on ramp designs for a while and so far haven't really found a ramp that I like.

Just wondering (since I am also looking for ways to help my turts get up on their basking spot) - would the repti carpet be partially in the water? I'm wondering about something that I could attach to cork bark that could be a slope from the water.

You probably have the ramp situation under control by now but anyways:
Repti-carpet + Cheap $0.99 Bird Ladder + small cable ties = Turtle Ramp
You push the cable ties through the repti-carpet and attach it to the bird ladder. I had to use some sharp scissors to weaken a spot so the tie could go through. I also had to remove a little mirror and toy from the bird ladder. There are bigger sizes of bird ladders for a little more money that would work well for bigger turtles also.
