I've heard that people can feed their RES tropical flakes to help them keep there color. If so then how much and how often a week? Should the flakes be a full meal atleast once a week? Just lookin for suggestions. And before someone says feed them vegetables for the color, mine are still young and dont even give vegetables a second glance

Hmm, I'm not too sure about Tropical Fish Flakes, but I gave my Eastern Painted some Cichlid Color Enhancing pellets as a treat, and he pretty much liked them (he went after them before the egg whites, so I guess they are tastey!).
Not only that, but pellets smell more like fish than the flakes, and (I am assuming so atleast) aren't as much as a "filler food" as the generic goldfish crap. ^^" The only downfall is that pellets cost about the same as the turtle food, but I have to buy it anyways for my Africans anyways, so what the heck!

There isn't any typr of food that you can feed your turtle to enhance their color. All you can do to have your turtle in a good color is provide plenty of UV rays and a good diet with plenty of fresh foods as well as comercial pellets.
