I live in southern ontario. I have had my turtle for 1 year. She has growen about 5 times the size she was when I got her. I don't have a heater in my tank, just a heat lamp. I have adjusted the light to turn on at 7:00am and turn off at 6:00pm. I felt this would best mimick nature as it is fall here and it gets dark about 6:00. I just want to make sure it is ok for the water to get cool at night and if I should change her feeding or anything. She managed fine last winter but I would like to know that it is Ok now that she is bigger.

use a submersible heater to keep the water about 74-78 degrees. Make sure the UVB light is over the basking area. The temperature is very important as if it goes to low, you can get a sick turtle on your hands. They also won't eat.
