Hi, Can someone please tell me a good filter for a 120 gallon tank (Preferably external) I already have a n Eheim 2008 (for tanks up to 13 gallons) internal filter.
Any help would be appreciated,

You could either try a Rena Filstar xp3 or go for an Eheim Pro II 2028... IF money's not too much of a problem, I'd go for the 2028. If there are some budget constraints, I'd go for the xp3. They are both amazing filters and suitable for a 120gal.

Where you from? Have you got a credit card? Here's a good website with fairly reasonable prices for their stuff - www.bigalsonline.com.

FLUVAL FLUVAL FLUVAL.
I know everyone thinks the Ehiem ones are better, but they are a lot more expensive, and mine was a great big pain! I would use 2 Fluval 404s or a 404 and a 304 or even a 404 and a powerhead or two to keep up waterflow

Fluvals suck *ss. I'd rather go for an Xp3 by Filstar. They're rated for slightly bigger tanks than a Fluval and are a lot easier to set up than a Fluval and it's self priming. They don't cost much more than a Fluval too.

I agree, get a filstar xp3. I have 2 right now and they work great. I have one running on my 110 gallon tank and one on my 29 gallon tank. I think I might get another for the 110 gallon. But right now they seem to be doing the job.

I submit to your wisdom! I don't know much about the Filstar stuff as its hard to get hold of in the UK
