There a lot of examples here: www.austinsturtlepage.com/Habitat/baskingspot.htmI like the one with the ceramic tiles. I have something similar but I bent up a shelf to hold the tiles. Here is mine: The rock was replaced with 5 ceramic tiles stack up and siliconed together. the unfinished side up for grippage.

cork bark works really good. Just wedge it between the glass panels. Theres a link to pics of my setups with crokbark as the basking spot in the photo forum.

take 3 ceramic tiles, put one, on each side of the tank, one on top, put the water level like an inch or so above the top of the top tile, so ur turts can get up easy, then stick a slanted river rock on top, so ur turts swim on, then climb on the rock, vuaaalla a cave/basking spot, mine works great and my turts love to hide in the cave, bask on the rock, and my lil one likes to wade in the warm water around the rock...perfect!!!
hope this helps....

Is there anything holding that in place? I'd be worried about it collapsing.

I've got the floating kind that you suction cup to the wall of the tank, but I've never seen them on it. Should I be concerned that maybe they can't get on it or something?

as long as you have part of the basking area in the water they should have no problem getting on it
